STILL
Die Serie „still“ beschäftigt sich mit dem Schaffen und Verändern von unwirklichen Räumen und Raumbeziehungen, die sich durch alltägliche Materialien bilden. Dadurch entstehen temporäre und zerbrechlich wirkende Räume und Momente.
Die Bilder zeigen sowohl Inszenierungen in der Landschaft, wie auch im Raum.
Durch die Aufteilung der Serie in zwei Bildstrecken werden Innen- und Außenraum zusammengebracht. Zum einen trifft in den Aufnahmen im Wald semi-transparente Plastikfolie auf eine natürliche Umgebung. Hierdurch verpacke und schaffe ich durch das Material Raum in der unbegrenzten Natur. Der zweite Teil der Serie findet im bereits begrenzten Raum eines leeren Zimmers statt. Innerhalb dieses vorgegebenen Raumes lasse ich durch den Einsatz von Wolle und Papier wiederum neue Räume entstehen. Das Verbundstück beider Teilserien ist neben dem Schaffen von Raum, auch das transparente Weiß, welches sich einerseits durch die sich auflösende Materialität zeigt. Auf der anderen Seite wirken die hellen Aufnahmen, als würde man durch die Milchigkeit der Plastikfolie schauen.
In meiner Arbeit entstehen temporäre und zerbrechlich wirkende Räume und Momente. So versuche ich Fragen zu klären, wie zum Beispiel, wo der Raum aufhört und etwas neues anfängt, welcher Raum die Natur umgibt oder wo der richtige Platz ist.
Für die Inszenierungen verwende ich einfache Materialien, die in fast jedem Haushalt zu finden sind und die dort nicht mehr als ihren Zweck erfüllen, ohne weitere Beachtung zu finden. Frischhaltefolie, Wolle, Mülltüten oder Papiertaschentücher nehme ich in den Aufnahmen ihren zweckgebundenen Einsatz. Dadurch werden die im Alltag blinden Flecken sichtbar gemacht und zum Teil einer wankenden Skulptur.

The series „Still“ concentrates on the creation and alteration of surreal spaces and interspacial relations, which are shaped by everyday-life materials. In this way, spaces and moments in time of fugutive and fragile apperance come into being.
The images show installations within the open landscape as well as in closed spaces.
By dividing the series into these two sub-categories, a connection between internal and external spaces builds up. For one thing, in the images taken in the forest, semi-transparent plastic foil encounters a natural environment. Hereby, I wrap up and create space within the boundless nature. The second part of the series is staged in the limited space of an empty room. Within this set space, I let new spaces come to life by using materials like wool and paper. The transparent whiteness serves as a connecting element between the two parts of the series. On the one hand, it is made visible by it’s dissolving substance. On the other hand, the bright images leave the impression of looking through the milky material of the plastic foil.
In my work, spaces and moments of a very temporary, fugitive and fragile character are created. By doing so, I try to find answers to complex questions such as where a space ends and something new begins, which space surrounds nature and where the right place might be.
For the staged installations I use simple, everyday materials that can be found in almost any given household, where they escape concious perception while fulfilling their respective purposes. I take away the pracitcal use from cling foil, wool, garbage bags or paper tissues. In this way, everyday-life’s blind spots are made visible and become part of a swaying sculpture.
